Martinique
December 2024 : Martinique
Martinique was a much needed pause from our eventful passages, even though we didn’t really stop moving, but the seas were calmer and life started to feel a bit slower! We spent Christmas Eve at the beautiful Saline Beach and moved over to Le Marin to meet our friends for Christmas dinner the next day!
Our exploration of Martinique continued with a visit to the charming town of Anse d’Arlet, where we enjoyed a pleasant hike to the beautiful Grande Anse d'Arlet. Rewarded with another lovely beach, we had a swim before returning to Tranquila. On our final day in Martinique, we made our way to Fort-de-France to see off a departing crew member. We took the opportunity to explore the town, purchase a much-missed guitar (we left ours in Sydney), and replenish our provisions. That evening, we began an overnight sail to our next destination: Guadeloupe.
