Grenadines

December 2024 : Grenadines

St Vincent & The Grenadines was our first sail in the Caribbean out of St Lucia, which included the realities of customs and immigration as cruisers - the first of many check in and outs of islands to come!

We first had to sail to Bequia to check in, which in itself took us almost a day, as we arrived at night and luckily had a friend helping us find a mooring ball in the dark! Antoine then had to wait for Customs and Immigration to open and then we could be on our way!

Our first stop: Tobago Cays! Although the weather wasn't great - cloudy and rainy - we were stunned by the beauty of Mayreau Island, soft sand and warm water! Here, we already started to see the destruction Hurricane Beryl had done and it was starting to feel quite eery!

We stayed the night along with other ARC boats and dashed to Baradal Island the next day. We didn’t know it, but we were in turtle heaven! Maddie snorkeled for the first time with her goggles and the first thing she saw was a turtle - I hope she doesn't forget that memory (she probably will) but her mind was BLOWN! We snorkelled through rain or shine, mostly rain, and got glimpses of how gorgeous the Tobago Cays could be in the little sun that we had! Sadly, it was time to leave the next day already but we were very happy with our little adventure before heading back to St Lucia for the ARC Awards Ceremony!
