St Barth

Jan/Feb 2025: St Barth

Our first stop in St Barth was only a few hours as we anchored to rest between our trip from Guadeloupe to St Martin. With just a quick breather in Colombier after an overnight sail, we knew we had to circle back to really explore and enjoy St. Barth. So, while waiting for some crucial boat parts in St. Martin, we made a detour to explore the Ile Fourchue and the town of Gustavia.

Ile Fourchue had a certain magic to it - rugged, uninhabited and just northwest of St. Barth, it was a pretty special stop. The island is mostly volcanic peaks diving straight into the sea and we were lucky enough to catch a beautiful sunset on our hike to the top! The next day, we sailed towards Gustavia, and it was quite the contrast. We went from quiet, tranquil, and secluded volcanic views to a scene buzzing with mega-yachts, and finding an anchorage became an adventure in itself! Once settled, we hopped ashore for an ice cream and some swim time at the iconic Shell Beach.

Short and sweet, that was our St. Barth stopover before our final leg back to St. Martin.
