November 2024: La Graciosa to Gran Canaria
Our first stop in the Canary Islands felt like something out of “The Martian”!
La Graciosa - a sandy, rich and volcanic landscape was breathtaking to anchor into after a 2 day passage from Madeira! It was also the first time we felt we might be able to pack the sweaters as we felt a considerable change in the temperature - whilst in continental Europe it felt like we were constantly in “autumn” as we made our way around the coast!
After a couple of nights rest, it was time to keep moving and our next stop was… Lanzarote! We docked into Rubicon Marina and it was a great stop as we got to stock up on food provisioning, the kids could ride their scooters around and we got our daily dose of yummy Ice-Cream! The marina also has an awesome pool area, free for those docked in, and it’s where we spent most of our days as it was quite hot!
The time was approaching for us to arrive at our “final” destination, Las Palmas Gran Canaria! We couldn’t believe the last few roller coaster months had lead us here and we could finally “relax” (spoiler alert: we did not relax).

Anchor down and princess was ready to head to land!
